Karim Vionnet - Vin de kav Chiroubles
Just like Karim's Beaujolais Villages, the Vin de Kav consists purely of the Gamay grape grown in the region of Burgundy in the center of france. It is a medium-bodied red quite similar to the Beaujolais Villages but with more structure and complexity. The Gamay grape is fairly close to a Pinot Noir - though often with the advantage of finding a great tasting bottle in a more fair price range and the Vin de Kav is a great example of this.
When treated right, the end-product should be a delicate, floral and slight earthy tasting wine. Karim Vionnet knows what he is doing. Present acidity but complimented by low tannnis. Enjoy.
