Marco Merli - Janus Umbria Rosso 2017
Made with 100% traditional Sangiovese grapes, grown on low-yielding high-quality vineyards and farmed using biodynamic methods, Janus is a genuine, unadulterated expression of the clayey-gravelling Umbrian terroir from which it originates. This is a natural and unfiltered wine, made with love, attention, and respect for nature as well as tradition.
Vinified naturally, the grapes rely on their own wild yeast for fermentation. Maceration lasts between 10 and 15 days before the wine is transferred into old oak barrels.
To the eye, Janus presents a beautiful ruby colour. The aroma hits the nose with notes of red fruit and a certain spiciness. in the mouth, expect a lively and fresh wine. Well balanced acidity and good body make for a satisfying, intense drinking experience.
